OMG! I’ve spent the last two weeks working on a gazetteer for Trinakria (ancient Sicily). Its about 50% longer than I intended, but it is nearly done now. Thank the gods!
It was worth it though, Trinakria has a lot of cool stuff:
* A lost city, home to fey who are trying to keep it a secret
* A dread city on the slopes of an active volcano, ruled by anti-paladins. A chthonic fire cult and an Egyptian death cult also operate within the city. Cyclopes, Troglodytes, and Gnolls are often encountered here.
* An 8-foot sculpture of Medusa’s head with a frightful gaze that protects a temple of Apollo, which also serves as the local library.
* Several ruined cities (Himera, Naxos, Gela).
* The cave city of Ispica
* Trojans, nymphs, prehistoric temples
* Wars of conquest and retribution
* More than a dozen military and religious cults
* Hidden groves and cult sanctuaries
* A few tantalizing hints about the upcoming Campaign path, the Blood of Trinakria.
This file also features a short overview of the wars of Trinakria, the major political figures, the economy, and the dungeons below Akragas.
All of this is in support of the upcoming campaign path, The Blood of Trinakria, for the Amazons vs Valkyries campaign setting. The first adventure in that path is “Prelude to War,” which is coming to Kickstarter soon!
