There are two adventure modules I\u2019ve been working on for a while. Both are very near completion. I would really like to get them both finished as my next two projects so I can move on with some other adventures I would like to develop. In this blog post, I\u2019ll delve into a little more information about them both.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cPrelude to War<\/a>\u201d is the first episode of the sixth book in the Amazons vs Valkyries saga, but the first one to be released. It takes the characters from 1st to 3rd level. Set in Trinakria (Sicily) on the eve of the First Punic War, the PCs are mercenaries conducting scouting, espionage, and commando raids behind Roman lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several side quests, pre-generated characters, and a gazetteer have already been published in support of this adventure. You can get them here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project was supposed to be about 1,500 words, but current sits at over 32,000. It is 83 pages long and will probably be even longer by the time it is finished. At this point, I want to redo a lot of the art and some of the maps. It still needs another 500 to 1000 words of content, and it needs editing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019d also like to play-test it online with some strangers. You can join the discord here<\/a> to sign up for games. I\u2019m not sure when they will start, but hopefully soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like just about everything about this adventure and it\u2019s a great introduction to the setting. However, it is a huge project that is a real strain to get finished. I\u2019m hoping this next push is enough to get it out the door.<\/p>\n\n\n

The other adventure I\u2019ve been working on is Destroy the Bridge<\/em><\/a>. This adventure is finished and ready to be released. It only needs editing and some pre-generated characters to be developed. I would really like to get this released. However, although there are a lot of things that I like about this adventure, it\u2019s not the best introduction to the setting. It\u2019s relatively short and very focused. Unlike the Prelude to War<\/em>, which is a sprawling sandbox adventure, this adventure is pretty short and straightforward without as lot of subplots, side quests, or expansion material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 It does have one significant expansion option. The follow-up adventure, which is outlined in the conclusion, describes another chapter in this series which DMs can develop fairly easily with the information provided in this adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because Destroy the Bridge<\/em> is only about half the length of Prelude to War<\/em>, it is much easier to develop and release. And, as I mentioned, it is practically finished. So as soon as Prelude to War<\/em> is done and released, Destroy the Bridge<\/em> will come right behind it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, it\u2019s important to note that although Prelude to War <\/em>is for characters of up to 3rd<\/sup> level, and Destroy the Bridge<\/em> is for characters of 9th<\/sup> level, the Destroy the Bridge<\/em> scenario actually comes BEFORE the Prelude to War in the saga\u2019s timeline. For now, this isn\u2019t really important. These adventures are best understood as stand-alone short adventures with a lot of expansion material. At some point in the future, I will post a timeline of the saga and show where each of these and other adventures happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan right now is to try to get Prelude to War<\/em> done and ready for Kickstarter before the end of the month. In order to do that, I need to get busy right now! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
